Detailed Day-wise Itinerary

Our taxi will pick you up from Leh after the wonderful breakfast and drive toward Zanskar via Chadar.

Please Note:
Initially, traffic movement on the road was regulated to specific days of the week. which are Sundays and Wednesdays.
From Leh to Padum is around 170km, and it takes 5 to 6 hours and drops off to hotel

Drive toward Purne is around 45 km from Padum and Visit to Phuktar monastery which is the most wonderful monastery in the Ladakh region.

Please Note:
You will be visiting Phuktal Monastery. Please be informed that the monastery is accessible only by foot from Purne, and it takes approximately 2 hours to reach the monastery. After spending some time at Phuktal, you will return to Purne via the same route, which takes around 1 to 2 hours. Overnight stay will be at Purne.

After the wonderful Breakfast, drive back towards Padum. On the way, you can visit Bardan monastery and move toward Padum.

Visit the following places near Padum:

  • Karsha monastery (13 km from Padum)
  • Stakrimo Monastery (6.5km from Padum) and drop off at hotel overnight in Padum.

In the morning, you will drive for sightseeing around Padum. You will visit Zangla and Stongday monastery and go back to Padum. After lunch you can visit Sani monastery and drop off to hotel.

Drive toward Kargil via Penzila Pass. On the way from Padum to Kargil, especially around Drang Drung glacier, the view is breathtaking. The glacier itself is one of the largest in the region, with its long, widening ice flow visible from the road near the pensile pass.
In these areas, you can often see Local people living in temporary settlements with their yaks. You can visit the Rangdum monastery which is one of the oldest monasteries in the Ladakh region, and drop off to the hotel. The distance between Padum and Kargil is around 243 km, and it takes 6-8 hours to reach Kargil and overnight stay at Kargil.

After breakfast, you will drive toward Srinagar via Zoji-La Pass. It is between the Kargil and Zoji-La Pass.
One of the most significant stops along the way is the Drass war memorial, located in the Drass valley. About 1 hour from Kargil. This memorial honors the soldiers who fought in the Kargil War of 1999 and offers a deep insight into India's military history. These site features are VIJAY PATH, War galleries, museums displaying weapons, Letters, and stories of bravery. After spending the 1 hour exploring the memorial, continue your journey toward Sonamarag, which is around 130 km from Kargil. It takes 8 to 9 hours to reach Srinagar, and an overnight stay at Srinagar.
